DescriptionSummary / Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of the Ruminant Associate Research Scientist is to provide oversight of the creative design, execution, and management of ruminant research conducted within the Research function at United Animal Health.
Research will be conducted at internal facilities, and externally with collaborative partners and customers.
Role will work to advance novel products and innovation ideas into viable research protocols to test new technologies and solutions that bring value to dairy producers.
Secondary responsibilities will include providing in-person and remote technical support to Key Account Managers.

Primary Job Responsibilities / Duties, but not limited to the following:
Collaborate with external innovation, internal discovery, and commercial field teams on dairy innovation projects.
Provide input regarding product development activities that support a robust pipeline of market leading products and ideas.
Provide leadership and oversight to support personnel to conduct specific research on new and existing products.
Develop and effectively manage project plans, budgets, and relationships.
Execute experimental designs to evaluate product efficacy and safety in both in vitro and in vivo experiments.
Evaluate on-farm performance in response to products and feeding programs.
Assist in conducting research to better understand the transmission and spread of disease among livestock to develop effective intervention strategies.
Analyze data and communicate results to cross-functional teams, including product innovation, product managers, marketing, and collaborators.
Collaborate with UAH researchers and external scientists to execute research projects.
Provide written summaries and orally communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Support product launches by preparing and delivering training materials.
Support and work alongside other technical service team members on the education of sales (strategic account managers) regarding technology utilization in both the domestic US and international markets.
Author marketing and scientific articles as appropriate.
Attend scientific meetings and make scientific presentations.
Work to continually understand and adapt with the dairy industry to develop novel solutions.

Work is conducted in a temperature-controlled office; however, some activities will be in non-temperature-controlled facilities.

A deep understanding of all aspects of dairy nutrition, health, and production.
Knowledge of design of experiments fundamentals, plus statistical analysis techniques.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to use Microsoft Office for presentation purposes.
Proficient in managing and statistically analyzing trial data.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
